You can create up to five task areas per project in order to model independent or parallel workflows. This allows you to better structure and schedule your project in a very convenient yet powerful way, which is crucial to facilitate accurate predictions of your projects’ timing.
Each task area represents a sequential thread of tasks distributed evenly over the time available, and by default, all areas are considered parallel from the start to the end of a project. On the diagram view, you may add dependencies between task areas in order to account for common cases where work in some area of your project cannot start until a specific task in another area has been completed. Add due dates and items to tasks to further customize your workflows.
This allows to accurately represent different amounts of work in the individual areas of a project. Some task area 1 may span from the start almost to the end of a project, while some other task area 2 contains only a short workflow right at the end of your project that waits for the final task in area 1 to be completed.
planimbAI recognizes the proportion of all work that each task represents. The more accurately you schedule your work by means of due dates, items, parallel task areas, and dependencies, the more accurate the predicted timing of your project will be.
